What is architecture?
Open House Ibiza is an architecture festival. Over one weekend, buildings usually closed to the public open their doors. 30 buildings, 5 municipalities. Free.
This is the festival's first edition. And it starts from one question: what is architecture? We live it every day (at home, at work, on the street) yet rarely look at it. That question is the foundation everything else is built on.
We don't answer with a lecture. We answer by opening doors. In the vernacular farmhouse, where generations perfected an answer to the climate. In the modern masters who came to recognise that wisdom. In the contemporary architecture that reimagines how we live.
Few places hold that progression in so few kilometres. Exploring Ibiza from within means understanding that architecture is the act of shaping the space where life happens.
